The newly elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, John Justice Abban, popularly known as DJ, has dedicated his victory in the constituency executive elections to the late Ghanaian broadcaster, Kwame Dzokoto.
Speaking to Almighty News, Mr Abban said the late broadcaster had returned to Tarkwa on the day in question to campaign for him, describing his support as a significant part of his journey to securing the chairmanship position.
He said Dzokoto had hoped to see him elected to lead the party in the constituency, particularly at a time when grassroots members were expressing concerns about the party’s leadership.

According to Mr Abban, his election represents the fulfilment of a dream cherished by the late broadcaster, whose support for his candidacy remained significant.
“It is because of me that Kwame Dzokoto returned to Tarkwa on that fateful day to campaign for me,” he told Almighty News.
Mr Abban said he was determined to justify the confidence reposed in him by party delegates and members, assuring them that he would work towards fulfilling the promises he made during his campaign.
He pledged to prioritise the concerns of the grassroots and ensure that his administration delivers on its commitments before the end of his tenure.
The newly elected chairman’s victory comes as the NDC begins a new phase of constituency-level leadership following its executive elections, with the party expected to consolidate its grassroots structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
