The retained National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for the Effia Constituency, Seidu Adam, has rejected the notion that the constituency is a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), insisting that the party can win the parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections.
Chairman Seidu Adam, who retained his position in the recent constituency executive elections, says the outcome reflects the will of party delegates, whose decision, he believes, has vindicated him and his administration.
Speaking on the Morning Light Show on Almighty 103.7 FM, Chairman Siedu maintained that the support he received from delegates was a clear indication that the party faithful had made their position known despite what he described as falsehoods levelled against him and his leadership.
“The party people have spoken, and their voices are louder than all the lies told about me and my administration,” he said.
He argued that Effia should not be regarded as an electoral stronghold of the NPP, expressing confidence that the NDC could wrestle the parliamentary seat from its political opponent through a united and determined campaign.
According to him, the party must build on the outcome of the constituency elections and intensify its efforts to secure victory in the 2028 polls.
Calls for unity after constituency elections
Chairman Seidu Adam has also called on NDC members in Effia to close ranks following the constituency executive elections, stressing the need for unity and collective commitment ahead of the next general elections.
He urged party supporters to put aside any disagreements arising from the internal contest and work together towards the party’s broader electoral objectives.
His appeal comes as the NDC begins consolidating its constituency-level leadership following the internal elections, with attention expected to shift towards strengthening the party’s grassroots structures and preparing for the 2028 general elections.
For Chairman Seidu, the immediate priority is to unite the party faithful and position the NDC to mount a strong challenge for the Effia parliamentary seat ahead of the 2028 general elections.
