Sesko arrives from RB Leipzig for a reported €85m plus add-ons on a five-year contract in what is United’s fourth summer signing.
Read more about the signing here.
Analysis – Sesko might not have been Manchester United’s first or second-choice striker this summer, but considering he is one of the top and most sought-after young strikers in Europe, he might just prove to be the right one.
Spending big on another young ‘project striker’ won’t come without its critics, and it is a gamble. However, you are misguided to compare Sesko to Rasmus Hojlund, because Sesko has already played significantly more top-flight games and scored more goals than when Hojlund arrived in Manchester.
Sesko also comes with Champions League experience; his four goals in the 2024/25 league phase showcased his ability to deliver on the grandest of stages and crucially thrive outside of the Bundesliga.

Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko vs. Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres promises to be a box office attraction.
