NPP Presidential Primary: Bawumia Wins Big at Party Headquarters, Polls 308 Votes

Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has emerged as the clear winner at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) headquarters polling centre, securing 308 votes in the ongoing presidential primaries.

His closest contender, businessman and MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, placed second with 160 votes, while the remaining three aspirants recorded single-digit figures at the party’s national office.

Provisional results from the headquarters indicate that Dr Bawumia captured about 64 percent of the total votes cast at the centre, with Mr Agyapong accounting for roughly 33 percent.

Former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and former Minister for Food and Agriculture Dr Bryan Acheampong each polled three votes, while former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong secured seven votes.

Meanwhile, voting continues across the country, with more than 211,000 delegates expected to cast their ballots at over 300 polling centres nationwide as the NPP selects its flagbearer for the next general elections.
