The Member of Parliament for Mpohor-Fiase, Henry Godfred Kofi Bentil, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving road infrastructure in the constituency, describing it as a top priority for both himself and the government.
According to Mr. Bentil, significant progress is being made on the Apowa–Mpohor road, where contractors have returned to site to continue work. He disclosed that the project is currently undergoing a redesign to ensure durability and long-term benefits for residents.
“The Apowa–Mpohor road is receiving the needed attention. Contractors are back on site, and the road is being redesigned to meet the required standards. We are hopeful that by the end of the year, the project will be completed,” he stated.
The MP further indicated that the Apowa–Mpohor stretch is not the only road project underway, noting that several other key roads within the constituency are also being worked on to improve accessibility and boost local economic activities.
“We are not focusing on just one road. Other critical roads in the constituency are also receiving attention because we understand the role good roads play in development,” Mr. Bentil added.
Beyond infrastructure, the legislator highlighted interventions in the agricultural sector aimed at supporting farmers and enhancing productivity. He revealed that the government, in collaboration with his office, has rolled out initiatives including the free distribution of fertilizers, coconut seedlings, and palm oil seedlings to farmers in the area.
“As part of our efforts to boost agriculture, we have distributed fertilizers, coconut, and palm oil seedlings free of charge to farmers. This is to support their work and improve yields,” he noted.
Mr. Bentil also touched on strides made in improving education, healthcare, and other social services within the constituency. He emphasized that a holistic approach to development remains central to his agenda.
“We are equally investing in education, health, and other social sectors to ensure that the people of Mpohor-Fiase experience real and meaningful development,” he said.
The MP’s remarks underscore ongoing efforts to address infrastructure deficits while promoting socio-economic growth in the Mpohor-Fiase constituency.
