The Ghanaian government has committed GH₵110 million to the Adwumawura programme and GH₵300 million to the National Apprenticeship Programme to boost youth empowerment, announced Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment George Opare Addo at the Government Accountability Series on August 4, 2025. Launched on April 28, 2025, in Kumasi, the Adwumawura programme has attracted over 11,000 applications, with 8,000 in its first week, signaling strong youth interest in innovation and employment opportunities. The National Apprenticeship Programme, launched on April 30 in Tamale, will begin training its first cohort on August 12, 2025, focusing on vocational skills to enhance employability, as reported by JoyNews.
