Residents in several communities within the Shama Constituency are expected to experience significant improvement in telecommunication services following government intervention to address longstanding network challenges.

According to the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Shama Constituency, the affected communities have for years struggled with unreliable mobile network coverage, hindering both voice communication and access to internet services. The situation she said has impacted daily activities, business operations, and access to essential digital resources.
“After several engagements with the Minister for Communication, Samuel Nartey George, provisions have been made to resolve the issue”, Madam Emilia Arthur stressed.

Authorities have confirmed that the necessary equipment will soon be installed to enhance network connectivity across the constituency.
The intervention she added is anticipated to not only improve communication but also boost access to digital learning tools. Schools within the beneficiary communities are expected to leverage the improved internet services to support teaching and learning, providing both students and teachers with greater access to educational resources.

Emilia Arthur however mentioned that the initiative forms part of broader efforts by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government led by H.E President John Dramani Mahama to implement practical, solution-driven policies aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens and promoting digital inclusion across underserved areas.
