More than 260 women in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, have undergone free breast cancer screening as part of a collaborative health initiative by the Cancer Support Network Foundation, the Asutifi North District Hospital, and the Queen Mother of Kenyasi No. 1, Nana Yaa Adutwumwaa Mrosa.

The exercise, organized under this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, aimed to encourage early detection and promote preventive healthcare among women in the district.

Speaking to Adom News, Vice President of the Foundation, Eric Brobbey, revealed that preliminary results indicated that about 60 women may require further medical evaluation for potential cancer-related symptoms.

He added that the Foundation is ready to provide financial and emotional support to any woman diagnosed with breast cancer, continuing its commitment to assisting patients, as seen in previous years.

“The turnout this year has been exceptional, showing that more people now appreciate the importance of early screening,” Mr. Brobbey said.

Board Secretary, Dr. Gabriel Asumeng, and Nana Yaa Adutwumwaa Mrosa reiterated the Foundation’s dedication to supporting women affected by breast cancer and urged regular medical checkups as a proactive health measure.

They stressed that early detection saves lives, urging women to stay hopeful and seek timely treatment.

“A breast cancer diagnosis is not the end — there is help, support, and hope,” Dr. Asumeng assured.

The initiative is part of the Cancer Support Network Foundation’s nationwide campaign to expand awareness, accessibility, and early intervention in breast cancer care across Ghana.
