Akwatia by-election: NPP’s Haruna Mohammed accuses NDC of vote-buying

Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Haruna Mohammed, has alleged that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) engaged in vote-buying during the Akwatia by-election on Tuesday, September 2.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show the following day, Mr. Mohammed claimed he personally witnessed the act, confronted the individuals involved, and reported the matter to the Apinamang LA JHS police commander.

He added that although the NDC publicly denied the allegations, their subsequent comments effectively exposed them.

“They themselves admitted that what happened in Akwatia was not as big as Kumawu. That, in itself, shows that they knew something went on,” Mr. Mohammed said.
